Master Jou, Tsung Hwa Tai Chi Festival
Last weekend I attended the Jou, Tsung Hwa Tai Chi Festival. It was the 13th annual Festival held in New Jersey. It was my first Tai Chi Festival and I would like to thank John Lee for inviting me. Seeing so many people of varied backgrounds all there to learn more and exchange ideas on Tai Chi and Qigong was truly remarkable.
There were many presenters on various topics including: Bruce LaCarrubba (a senior student of Master Jou), Gar Wang, Mark Gallagher and Master Jianye Jiang. Topics included Tai Chi, Qigong, reflexology and self massage. The festival, being held on a farm, also allowed the participants to be a part of the natural landscape as well.
Tai Chi and Qigong are wonderful forms of exercise and a great way to relieve stress. More and more people are signing up for lessons; which can be found even at your local ymca. Try a class and you will not regret it. It may not be for everyone but if you don’t try you will never know.
